Sustainability and mobility

General sustainability and mobility measures

Sustainable event

In addition, this year, when energy saving is especially important, Proactiv and DEAG have opted for measures to significantly reduce energy consumption as much as possible, with measures such as switching to efficient LED bulbs, which save 80% of the energy used for lighting, the use of durable materials or the use of short-cycle processes.

In terms of energy, running the event requires an average consumption of about 962 kilowatt hours (kWh) per day, which represents an average of about 0.3 kWh per visitor. The energy devoted to lighting could therefore be compared to the amount of electricity needed to use a streaming service for 1 hour, or for each of the starts of a filter coffee machine.

In addition, this is an event that is totally respectful of its natural environment, without causing any damage to plants, treesflowers or fauna. The technical team of the event is in constant coordination with the technicians and curators of the Botanical Garden, to ensure at all times the care of it.

Mobility measures

A mobility plan has been implemented to improve access to the Botanical Garden. Some of the highlights will be the reinforcement of the public transport service and the expansion of parking areas for private vehicles on the busiest days.

In addition, it will be communicated if the parking lots are full with indicators and the mobility of buses and cabs will be prioritized.
